Executive Session - Prisoner Reentry, Oct. 7

In collaboration with the COPS Office, PERF will host a one-day executive session to discuss challenges, strategies and innovative approaches to address the reentry challenge facing the law enforcement community as states address budget shortfalls by cutting corrections budgets, expanding parole and early release programs, and modifying sentencing laws.
The discussion at the meeting will examine the nature and extent of the challenges facing local law enforcement as states adopt new policies and practices to reduce prison expenditures.

SMIP is a program of the Police Executive Research Forum Program that provides senior police executives intensive training in the latest management concepts and practices used in business and government. A demanding three-week course, SMIP brings together a faculty from some of the nation's top universities, successful law enforcement chief executives, and subject matter experts from the private sector.
